Gorgeous and Greige in Gramercy Park

House Beautiful arrived over the weekend. The images of this one room New York Gramercy Park studio have me dreaming of what life would be like living in this stylish, tiny space in the middle of Manhattan.
Done in a sophisticated palate of white, cream, black and gray. I love how even in this $$$ piece of real estate, the designer used these black and white striped pillows from Ikea.
The centerpiece of this room is the hanging mobile fixture displaying personal notes and photographs. The slipcovered toile daybed is a fireside settee by day and a snug bed by night.
I love this gallery wall. Floor to ceiling mounted varied black frames with gray and sepia images make this the perfect focal point in the entryway.

There's nothing I don't love about this. The white slipped chair, creamy drapery, the giraffe rug, the white decorator table, white candles and flowers. Bliss in the city.
What would it be like if you had a tiny kitchen like this with the excuse of not having to make dinner every night? All I know is that it looks just perfect for making morning coffee and pouring bubbly.
Even the resident doggie and cat love it here!

The absence of color makes this home so serene and romantic. Who knew a black and white scheme could be so soft?
Designer Ellen O'Neill uses automotive paint to lighten wood floors. And she explains that the ten foot ceiling and windowed terraced doors make the space feel larger. I'm taking notes and dreaming....

Pick up this month's House Beautiful for more and you'll be inspired to down size and live beautifully and better.
