Krank This LED Light
It seems like whatever I read these days about eco-friendly lighting, it always is about LED lights. I guess there's a good reason for that, considering LEDs use only a fraction of the wattage that your average incandescent light uses and that it lasts about ten times longer! LED is a technology that is constantly morphing. It's latest shape - KRANK - a new design concept by Efrain E. Velez. The idea behind KRANK is that with only a few KRANKS of the handle, you are able to produce between 40 and 60 minutes of bright light. Cool! KRANK utilizes the process of magnetic induction, which essentially means that as you crank, a magnet surrounded by a copper coil produces enough voltage to light the LED. Made from recycled aluminum parts, KRANK is totally and completely green! And it looks pretty snazzy, too. KRANK should be available for market in Spring of 2009.
